VYSSA SPELEVINK crib mattresses have been recalled by IKEA, in cooperation with the CPSC, because they fail to meet the federal standards for mattresses, which poses a fire hazard.
There have been two previous recalls in January 2015 and again in May 2015 for entrapment hazards. The current recall involves about 38,500 mattresses. To this date, there are no accident or injury reports.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled crib mattresses and return them to any IKEA store to receive a refund. The mattresses given in exchange for the previous two recalls ARE also included in this recall.
For more information about this recall, please visit www.ikea-usa.com or call them toll-free at 888-966-4532. Or visit the CPSC Web site.
Product-related injuries and dangerous products should be reported to www.SaferProducts.gov or by calling their hotline at 800-638-2772. Reporting these types of defects and injuries helps the CPSC to track and ensure the safety of consumer products and has contributed to the decline I the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 40 years.
