Summer is finally here and with it brings sunny beautiful weather and if you’re lucky some fun travel. But if you are traveling with a Nokia Tablet, this post is important.

Travel charger kits for Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablets have been recalled by Nokia, in cooperation with the CPSC, because the plastic cover on the charger’s plugs can become loose and separate exposing internal components that pose a risk of electrocution if touched while plugged into a main socket.

The affected travel kits, sold at AT&T and Verizon Wireless dealers and retailers nationwide were sold from January to May 2014. To this date there have been no reports of injuries or incident involving this recall.

The recall involves the Travel Charger Kit sold separately from the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet, also called the AC-300 charger accessory kit. The kit has four different plugs and is available in the U.S., U.K., EU and Australia. For photos of the recalled travel kit, consumers should refer to the CPSC Recall Notice.

The agency urges consumers to stop using the recalled charges and to immediately contact Nokia for information about receiving a refund from Verizon or a credit from AT&T. Both companies will replace the travel chargers for free. For additional information, please call Nokia directly at (888) 665-4228 or visit their Website at www.nokia.com and visit the recall section.

To report an incident involving the Nokia Lumia 2520 travel charger, you can do so at Saferproducts.gov.
