Several Million Keurig Machines Recalled

An estimated seven million Keurig Mini Cup machines have been recalled due to the risk of injury and burn to the user if the machine malfunctions and sprays hot water.

To date the company has received more than 200 reports of hot liquid spraying from the brewer. Of those reports 90 users suffered from burn injuries.

The only models included in the recall is The Keurig Mini Plus Brewing Systems that were made between 2009 and 2014. They were available in several different colors and have an ID number printed on the bottom starting with K10, followed by a range of numbers.

Consumers should stop using the recalled brewers and contact the company for a free repair kit. In the meantime, if the machine must be used, consumers are urged by the company to stay a few feet away and to not brew more than two cups in a row.

The company news release includes the following statement, If you purchased the product as a gift, please notify the gift recipient of this important safety information.”

For more information on this recall, please visit the Keurig Website or call the company directly at (844) 255-7886.
