A voluntary recall of bottled water was prompted by an E. coli scare. In total, Niagara Bottling, LLC, recalled 14 spring water products, including 7-Eleven and Wegmans brands among others.
To date, there have been no reports of illness associated with the recall. The company contends that “no E. coli has been detected in any finished products and they immediately shut down operations to disinfect their bottling lines and to issue a recall in an abundance of caution in the interest of consumer safety.”
The other bottled water brands included in the recall are: Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, Niagara, Nature’s Place, Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, and Shoprite. The recall involves Spring water, not purified water.
Bottles carrying the Best By codes are affected: F# BEST BY 08DEC2016 to F# BEST BY 16DEC2016 or A# BEST BY 08DEC2016 to A# BEST BY 16DEC2016.
If you don’t see your product included on the list, it is not affected by the recall, said the company. However, if you have questions they should be directed to Niagara directly by calling 888.943.4894.
