Seven types of frozen pizza have been voluntarily recalled, nationwide, by Annie’s Inc., due to the possible presence of metal fragments in the dough.

Although the company states that no metal has been found in the finished product, the recall was initiated out of an abundance of precaution. To this date, there have been no consumer complaints or illness in conjunction with this recall.

The recall involves the following pizza products in stores across the country that carry a “best by” date between January 9 and September 14.

Organic Four Cheese Pizza: UPC of 013562 200016

Organic Pepperoni Pizza: UPC of 013562 200009

Organic Supreme Pizza: UPC of 013562 200023

Organic Spinach and Mushroom Pizza: UPC of 013562 200054

Four Cheese Pizza: UPC of 013562 200078

Pepperoni Pizza: UPC of 013562 200061

BBQ Recipe Chicken Pizza: UPC of 013562 200092

Update: January 25 – Hunts Tomato Sauce Recalled

ConAgra Foods has initiated a voluntary recall of certain lots of its 8 ounce Hunts Tomato Sauce (regular variety) along with Hunts Tomato Sauce (no salt added) that were packaged in cans that contained a defect in the inner lining.

At this time there have been no reports of safety concerns, but the can defect may cause it to swell and then burst upon opening. The products were distributed in several states including Nevada.
